Abstract

As part of the 2011 Global Youth Economic Opportunities Conference's section on financial services and capabilities, Karen Austrian discusses the social and economic outcomes of offering adolescent girls savings accounts, as well as the social and economic outcomes participation in savings groups generates among girls in Kenya and Uganda.
